Freedom Hub is dedicated to using the law to achieve economic and social justice through strategic litigation, awareness raising, and advocacy. We use strategic litigation to hold government, public institutions, and political leaders accountable and increase access to justice. We support poor communities by providing them with the requisite legal, socio-economic, and good governance advice to guide and shape policies and laws that affect them and by pushing for reform of laws through advocacy and strategic litigation. We defend the rule of law and advocate for good governance for a functional and thriving society. We use the law to challenge injustice, advocate for the poor, hold power accountable and create an egalitarian society.
We envision a society where the rule of law is unwaveringly upheld, and governance is characterised by transparency, accountability, and efficiency, fostering a functional and thriving society. Our commitment lies in championing these principles, ensuring a foundation where justice prevails and the well-being of citizens is prioritised.
We employ strategic litigation as a powerful tool to challenge and rectify legal injustices, setting precedents that pave the way for a fair and equitable legal system.
Our team engages with policymakers, government bodies, and international organisations to advocate for legislative reforms and policies that uphold human rights, strengthen the rule of law, and ensure good governance.
We research, document, and report human rights issues/violations in Sierra Leone, ensuring that accurate information is readily accessible to the public and international bodies.
Education is a powerful catalyst for change. We engage in proactive awareness campaigns and conduct workshops and training sessions to equip individuals and organisations with the Knowledge and skills necessary to actively participate in shaping a just and accountable society.
Our mission is to cultivate a society marked by justice, security, and equal access to rights through proactive awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, capacity-building, and advocacy. We strive to empower every individual, regardless of socio-economic status, with the assurance of justice and the unimpeded enjoyment of their rights.
We venture into hard-to-reach communities in Sierra Leone to deliver hands-on training, tailoring these sessions to the community's needs and empowering residents with sustainable skills.
We offer regular public lectures and community forums, giving residents direct access to our team of lawyers for questions on legal rights. Through these interactive sessions, held in village halls, schools and open‑air gatherings, we demystify the law, address local concerns and foster informed, empowered communities..
